150 x 209 mm. A view looking across meadowland towards the flat plain on which the bungalows of the settlement can be seen. Before railhead reached Nairobi in May 1899 there was no permanent population in the area, but with the decision to make Nairobi the headquarters for railway engineer work the town quickly grew.
