Early 2000s Reboot File, 2003 - 2004
Scope and Contents
A file containing mostly faxes that relate to a proposed reboot of the Spitting Image television series. These faxes hold the following: copies of correspondence between Roger Law, Richard Bennett [director of Spitting Image Productions Limited], and John Lloyd; a feasibility study on the costs involved in starting a new production; and Law's notes to building contractor, Graham Brister, on warehouse premises that the latter has identified as a potential workshop for the reboot.
Also present is another file that holds copies of emails between Richard Bennett and John Lloyd, which are currently closed until 2051.
The planned reboot of Spitting Image in the early 2000s was abandoned in the aftermath of a dispute between Roger Law and Peter Fluck with the producers of a Spitting Image tribute programme in 2006, over the creation of puppets for Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who were the presenters of the show [see entry MS Add.10275/5/8/3].
