General Papers File, 2002 - 2005, 2009
Scope and Contents
A file containing a mix of paper-based material, relating to Roger Law's autobiography, Still Spitting at Sixty, collected or produced by Lewis Chester. The contents range from correspondence between Chester and Law to manuscript notes, and word-processed drafts of some of the book's chapters. The correspondence, which takes the form of letters, postcards and email printouts, mainly focuses on Chester's and Law's work on the book, but also provides information on Law's activities while living in Australia.
There is also a draft of an article written by Law, accompanied by an email printout from Chester, dated 2009, relating to Russian satire and Law's visit to Russia to find out what happened to the Spitting Image franchise in that country, Kukly. This article may have some connection to a BBC Radio 4 programme that was aired in 1 January 2010, which was presented by Law, and covered the same topic. A version of this article surfaced in a 2014 edition of Radio Times [see entry MS Add.10275/5/5/2/2].
There is also a second file that holds an email printout, which is closed until 2041.
