Scope and Contents
A file containing letters, copies of emails, and faxes received by Roger Law from various individuals and organisations. Topics include, but are not limited to: Loughborough University's intention to bestow an honorary doctorate upon Law; a response to his application to lecture at the National Art School, Darlinghurst, Australia; requests from several institutions for Spitting Image puppets to be donated to them; Law's inclusion as an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Art; and a clearance request for the album cover of The Who's The Who Sell Out to feature in the film, The Boat That Rocked. Also present are a couple of fax copies sent by Law.
There is also a file with a copy of an email from Peter Fluck to Roger Law, which concerns a letter they sent to British literary critic, Frank Kermode, in 1979, regarding the London Review of Books magazine. A Nancy Gryspeerdt seeks permission for this letter to be included in a publication on the history of the magazine. A computer printout with a photographic image of the letter from 1979 is present. This item is closed until 2041. Also within this file is a copy of an email from John Lloyd to Law, which includes a story about the impact of Spitting Image on the Conservative politician, Norman Tebbit; closed until 2051. Also present is an email from the grandson of Magnus Magnusson, Siggy Stone, in which he asks Law about how to preserve a Magnusson Spitting Image puppet that he has in his possession; closed until 2050.
