Greetings and Christmas cards, mostly from Ghanaians; newspaper cuttings (from 1960s, mostly 1967) reporting Lady Smedley’s involvement with Abesim; correspondence relating to the Abesim eye hospital including letters from Lady Smedley to Thomas A. Brient (Archdeacon of Sunyani) and Nana Ansu Gyeabour regretting that she and Smedley cannot attend the official commissioning (7 November 1995); Lady Smedley’s correspondence relating to the eye hospital... with Bishop J.K. Dadson (Bishop of Sunyani and Tamale) 6, 13 November 1995, 9, 16 October 1996; with Nana Ansu Gyeabour, 14 December 1995, 15 March 1996; further letters from Lady Smedley to Thomas A. Brient, Nana Ansu Gyeabour, and Bishop Dadson, all 20 January 1997, in which she reports sending money collected in their local church for the hospital; draft pieces written by Lady Smedley on Abesim and Bishop Dadson for inclusion in their local Sussex parish newsletter; several telegrams to Lady Smedley discussing the Abesim hospital from Thomas A. Brient, 1997, 4 April 2000, 13 November 2001 and Bishop Dadson, 14 December 2001 (circa 70 sheets).
