Scope and Contents
Archives relating to Lanning's work as Assistant Resident and Protectorate Agent. Subjects include the ‘Governor’s Speech to the Great Lukiko’, medical administration, minutes of township authority meetings, legal affairs, employment of clerical staff, construction of a technical school, minutes of a Red Cross meeting, policing, official instructions to assistant residents, creation of interracial sports clubs, the position of administrative officers, administration of justice, tobacco marketing, an incident between a railway engineer and a game ranger, the clearing of grasses, duties of clerks and interpreters, petitions for pay by an African fitter, Reform School lectures, and game reports (circa 120 sheets).
