On the land legislation of the Australian colonies, 1872
Scope and Contents
A paper attacking the alienation of Crown Land by popularity-seeking ministries, 'The Imperial Government, which never had a colonial policy worthy of that name'. It proceeds to criticise 'the selfish and short-sighted resistence offered to public opinion and to the requirements of an altered condition of society by the pastoral tenants of the Crown', the denial of liberal legislation owing to the action of dominant interests.
