'Vicar of Bray', 1950 - 1980
Scope and Contents
177 x 135 mm photographic reproduction. The barque 'Vicar of Bray' was constructed at Whitehaven by Robert Hardy and launched in 1841. Later in its career, after being damaged in a storm, the ship sought refuge in Port Stanley, and was purchased by the Falkland Islands Company in 1873 for trading with Britain. Its final voyage was in 1880, the hull thereafter being used as a jetty at Goose Green.
