Scope and Contents
160 x 210 mm. The caption continues: "The buds must be gathered just before they open otherwise the 'head' of the clove which is the calyx and a mass of white stamens, is lost and a poor quality sample thus produced. At this stage the clove buds are a lovely light green tinged with pink. A few open flowers can be seen in the picture.'
