Bull fighting in Pemba, 1946 - 1948
Scope and Contents
210 x 160 mm. Showing a bull surrounded by men. The caption continues: 'The bull is brought into the arena by a stout rope around his neck and, as an additional precaution, a further rope attached to a hind leg. He is pulled up against the stockade where the leg rope is removed, and he is thrown whilst the neck rope is also released from the corner of the stockade. The though lying on the ground is now free and on a given signal the matadors leap away from him to commence the fight.'
