The Spitting Image Workshop Manual, 1985
Scope and Contents
A box containing five sub-files, which hold photographic material relating to an abandoned Spitting Image Productions Limited publication, The Spitting Image Workshop Manual. The idea for the book was proposed by photographer and graphic designer, David King, and he spent time at the Spitting Image Workshop documenting the activities that took place at the company's Limehouse Studios. The project was abandoned when it was decided that such a publication would reveal SIPL's secrets on producing the Spitting Image latex foam puppets.
The following are present in the box: a file with a book dummy; a file containing an assortment of photographs, contact prints and negatives; a file containing a number of sleeves holding 35mm slides; a file holding large sheets of contact prints; and a file containing a large black and white photograph of Roger Law modelling in clay the head of British Conservative Party politician, Michael Heseltine.
This material has the original reference number of SI/966.
