Scope and Contents

A poster-size lithograph mounted in a plastic sleeve depicting an attack on the Vecht lager. The lager was comprised of 180 wagons travelling under the leadership of Karl Pieter Landman along Bosman's River during August 1838. The picture is signed 'H. Lea 1912' in the bottom left corner. There is also a printed description of the painting in Afrikaans describing the protagonists and a postcard with a reproduction of the picture. None of the items are dated.
