Biographical / Historical
Kabaka Mutesa II of Buganda, 'King Freddie', was deported in 1953 following a dispute with the Governor, Sir Andrew Cohen, over the possibility of separating Buganda from the rest of Uganda. The dispute was eventually resolved, and the Kabaka returned to Kampala on 17 October 1955. At the time of these events Sir Ronald Bennett was in business in Kampala.
