Scope and Contents
Notes on Mauritius’s people, culture, economy, history and natural history written or collected by Bell, some extracted from his diary. The file also includes Bell’s speech on his re-appointment as Governor in 1922, a minute on working class dwellings in Port Louis, 27 Apr. 1922, a speech on the opening of the Council of Government, 10 June 1924, a few newspaper clippings and items of correspondence, a map showing the location of mosquitoes in 1922, and a postcard of a dodo (circa 120 sheets).
