Prominent subjects include Bell’s social life, interests and personal affairs; the construction of the villa at Cannes; the publication of ‘Foreign Colonial Administration in the Far East’ and the award of the Royal Empire Society's gold medal for it; work on two committees formed by the Colonial Office to examine the recruitment of officers for the colonial service and control of cinema in the colonies; letters to the press on the consumption of alcohol in West Africa and electoral reform in Uganda; and a fact finding mission to Yugoslavia on behalf of Chemical and Wood Industries Co. Ltd. (circa 120 sheets).
