Group in Jerusalem; 14 January 1875, 1875-01-14
Scope and Contents
185 x 133 mm. This group shows twelve individuals and was taken ‘as a souvenir of our trip’ at the end of a visit to the Holy Land. Apart from the three shown in RCMS21/2/40, it includes others who are presumably the Americans from New York and Philadelphia whom Laing met on the boat to Jaffa on 5 January. The group can therefore be assumed to show: seated in centre: Mr and Mrs Thomas and their daughter Gertrude; standing behind: Guide; Arthur Dodge and Frank Witherbee (graduates from Yale, not separately identified); with Miss Lizzie Hunt between them; Screven; Edwin Thomas; Guide; seated on floor: Guide; Stoddard; Laing.
