Ein Sisalfabrik in Deutsch-Ostafrika [Sisal factory in German East Africa i.e. Tanzania], 1920
Scope and Contents
A booklet containing monochrome photogravure postcards of agricultural and industrial scenes in German East Africa. Published by Walther Dobbertin of Harburg.
Each card has the following exhortation in German printed on the reverse: 'Our own colonies, our own overseas provinces are essential to Germany. Germans, remember your colonies!'.
The captions to the prints are in a form of cursive gothic script which is difficult to decipher: in some cases, therefore, an approximate English caption in square brackets is all that is supplied.
