Scope and Contents

235 x 190 mm. A view showing the dilapidated three storey building lived in for some weks by Livingstone before setting out on his final expedition in 1866. Next to the house stand native houses of thatch and wattle. The building is situated on the northern side of the town east of the Creek on what was later Hollis Road.

GD. A note states that the building later became the property of Ithnasheri Khoja Indian Community who used it as a resthouse. Purchased by Government 1947 for use as laboraratories and living quarters.
