Private Eye Posters, 1981
Scope and Contents
A visifile containing multiple copies of five posters for the British satirical and cultural affairs magazine, Private Eye, which feature Luck & Flaw plasticine model illustrations. These posters both advertised the publication and were available on sale to the general public. The illustrations contain representations of the following: British journalist, Nigel Dempster, also known as Grovel (L&F/86); the magazine's parody of a far-left political activist, Dave Spart (L&F/216); three parody solicitors under the law firm name, Sue, Grabbit & Runne (L&F/225); businessman and husband of Margaret Thatcher, Denis Thatcher (L&F/230); and English novelist, Auberon Waugh (L&F/267).
The photographic images of the illustrations were taken by John Lawrence Jones.
