Scope and Contents

In 1967, Roger Law was awarded a six-month Rockefeller Grant to be Artist-in-Residence at Reed College, an American liberal arts institution in Portland, Oregon. While there, he made a puppet film with a number of students, titled, The Milkman: A Satire on Capitalism. The film was written and directed by the English literature lecturer at the college, Will Baker. Material found in this section relates to that film, and includes: scripts, cast and crew documentation, small props, storyboard, and set designs.

Once that residency was over, Law stayed in the United States and worked in San Francisco and New York, before returning to the United Kingdom in 1969. There is a sub-file with some miscellaneous photographs of American celebrities, along with a letter and pamphlet from 1975, which Law received from an individual with whom he drove across the United States from California to New York.
