The War Diaries of Sir Harold Nicolson, 1967
Scope and Contents
Three hardboard woodcuts containing print designs that were used to illustrate the series, The War Diaries of Sir Harold Nicolson, which appeared in four issues of The Sunday Times Magazine, in September and October 1967. The woodcuts are for parts 1 to 3 of the series; no woodcut is present for the fourth and final part. The first design features representations of Sir Winston Churchill and Sir Harold Nicolson (RL/Pre-/695). The second design features a representation of Nicolson in the foreground, in a sitting position, and two women standing in the background (RL/Pre-/965). The third design features a representation of four men in French military/police uniforms (RL/Pre-/968).
