Kenya Independence Conference Opens in London, 1963-09
Scope and Contents
156 x 202 mm. Mr. Duncan Sandys, Secretary of State of State for the Colonies, formally opened the Kenya Independence Conference at Lancaster House, London.
This picture shows him addressing the conference. On the left is the Kenya Government delegation led by Mr. Jomo Kenyatta. On the right are the delegates representing the Opposition parties and the European community. To the left of Mr. Sandys is the Governor of Kenya, Mr. Malcolm Macdonald.
