Scope and Contents
155 x 193 mm. Mr. Iain Macleod, Secretary of State for the Colonies, and Mr. Mohammed Haji Ibrahim Egal, Minister of Local Government in British Somaliland, prepare to sign the agreement giving the protectorate its independence on June 26, at the closing session of the constitutional conference in the Colonial Office, London. Behind them are, left to right; Sir Douglas Hall, Governor of the Protectorate; Ali Gerad Jama, of the Ministry of Communications and Public Works in Somaliland; Haji Ibrahim Nur, Ministry of Social Services; Ahmed Haji Dhaleh, Ministry of Natural Resources; and Mr Lawson, legal advisor to the delegation.
