This drawing of Flamsteed House from the lawn shows the Octagon Room and dwelling rooms below. The first three windows from the right are of the apartments built for the fifth Astronomer Royal, Nevil Maskelyne. To the left of these is an entrance to the apartments built in 1835 and 1836. The Time Ball, mounted in 1833 as a time signal for mariners, is shown in a lowered position. In the foreground, two children play with a dog on the lawn.
