Letter to Sir Joseph Banks
Scope and Contents
An undated photostat of a letter from Nevil Maskelyne to Sir Joseph Banks, 18 November 1794, regarding a number of subjects. Maskelyne begins by mentioning the preparations for the Bakerian Lecture to be given by S.B. Vince, and goes on to state that John Crosley has sailed for the West Indies and will be testing the timekeepers 3 Earnshaw and 2 Arnold on the voyage. He ends the letter by informing Banks of letters he has received from Count Bruhl and A. Robertson, formerly Chaplain of Christ Church, Oxford.
