General statements on progress with regard to the Isaac Newton Telescope, including correspondence with, among others, Sir Howard Grubb, Parsons and Co. Ltd, Newcastle-upon-Tyne; the Navy Works Department; the Admiralty; the Ministry of Public Building and Works; D.E. Blackwell of the University Observatory, Oxford; R.O. Redman of The Observatories, Cambridge; and the Ministry of Defence. There are also several brief progress reports, and notes on a meeting between Sir Richard Woolley and representatives of the Navy Works Department, held at Herstmonceux on 1 December 1961.
