Scope and Contents

Inscribed on rear 'Lizzie, given me by Mrs Leigh Smith about 1949'. Also two 8x6ins copy prints, made circa 2000. With this photograph are two further prints of drawings of Lizzie Siddal on the same occasion, made by Anna Mary Howitt and Barbara Leigh Smith [Bodichon]. Also a page from a Sotheby's sale catalogue of 15 December 1953, listing the three sketches for sale.

Existence and Location of Originals

The original Rossetti sketch is thought to be held in the Lanigan Collection in the National Gallery of Canada. The originals of the Bodichon and Howitt sketches are in the collection of Mark Samuels Lasner [University of Delaware].
