Childhood spent in Birmingham. Educated at Leam, Warwickshire. Adult life before marriage spent in London, with frequent visits to Hastings. After marriage in 1867 lived in La Celle St Cloud, near Paris. In old age returned to live in London.

Scope and Contents The papers have been acquired by Girton College in several deposits.
