BRP miscellaneous fragments, 1850 - 1884
Scope and Contents
Fragments of 22 manuscript letters written by [BRP], recipients unknown. GCPP Parkes 10/3 concerns the reading in the House of Commons of the Married Women's Property Bill; 10/11 comments on the moral attitudes of Honore de Balzac; 10/12 describes Herbert Spencer and alludes to his relationship with George Eliot; 10/1, 10/4, 10/ 5 and 10/15 also have typescript copies; 10/16 and 10/17 belong together and are a response to BRP's father's letter in BRP 2/64, 6 Oct 1858; 10/18 includes an envelope inscribed with Lady Iddesleigh's comments on items 10/16 and 10/18. 22 items, numbered 1-20, 20a and 20b.
