Letter from Margaret Howitt to Bessie Belloc, addressed from Fern Cottage, Launceston, Cornwall, 1922-06-21
Scope and Contents
Margaret has come across a note from Fredrika Bremer [Swedish writer and feminist activist, 1801-1865, whose works were translated into English by Mary Howitt, mother of Margaret], dating from 1851, in which F B asked to meet ‘that dear warm-hearted girl B. Parkes‘. Margaret has been able to get F B’s letters to her mother from a depository in Innsbruck and is reading them before sending them to F B's biographers and editors of her letters in Sweden.
