Letter from Margaret Howitt to Bessie Belloc, addressed from 8 Sieberer Strasse, Innsbruck, Tyrol, 1904-05-17
Scope and Contents
Margaret thanks Bessie for sending her The Tablet containing a notice about Bessie’s poems. She is sorry to hear Bessie has been ill. She plans to send Bessie a copy of ‘Une Famille de Brigands’. She is going to Italy in the summer, where, for the first time in 52 years, she will see her brother Alfred. She talks at length of Alfred, whose wife died the previous year while he was in Australia. Since then Alfred has finished a work on ‘Australian Aborigines’. He and his daughter May will embark for Australia at the beginning of October. It will be hard to meet and part again in a short space of time.
