Letter from Bessie Parkes to [Barbara Leigh Smith Bodichon], 1880
Scope and Contents
Bessie is anxious about her youngest nephew, Marcel Ballot, aged 19, who has typhoid fever. She says when she was in Paris Mme Trélat was happy and comfortable but Mme Mohl [Mary Mohl, née Clarke, 1793-1883] was failing. She has been with Coco [her son Hilaire] to the British Museum and to the Polytechnic; during the latter trip she lost her way in a dense fog. Two pages [letter incomplete], together with a note with Lady Iddesleigh's comments on the letter.
