Bessie is delighted at the names for the petition [for the Married Women’s Property Bill], including Max [Matilda] Hays, and feels they will get a lot more. She admires the pictures Barbara has sent, including one of a green cornfield and ‘Oaks by the Sea’. She has been to theatre and pantomime. She has spent a very happy evening with Max Hays.
