Bessie comments on hearing G Dawson speak [George Dawson, 1821-76, nonconformist preacher]. Discusses Guy [Fawkes] and says she doesn’t 'think the nation would have been ruined if he had blown up the King & Parliament'. Says she will buy J Martineau’s book and has been buying Howitt’s Journal: she enjoys Mary Howitt’s writing and is obliged to Barbara for taking her to see her. One page, together with one page partial transcript.
