Letters from Jenny Bibron to Bessie Belloc (née Parkes), 1877 - 1883
Scope and Contents
1. Paris 15 October 1877: she sends Bessie her condolences on the death of her mother; she talks of elections in Paris; she says Mme Souvestre has lost a granddaughter;
2. 2 December 1877: she mentions various family documents; she relates family news; she talks of watercolour painting;
3. 3 January 1882: she talks of things she intends to send to Marie and Hilaire;
4. 12 January 1882: she talks of the death of Louise Swanton Belloc; she says more about things she has sent to Marie; she has received a letter from Hilaire - the second page of this letter is her reply to him;
5. 1 January 1883: she talks of current affairs and thanks Marie for her watercolour; on the back page of this letter there is a pencil note [in the hand of Marie Belloc Lowndes?] which reads ‘Aunt Jenny - who lived at the Jardin des Plantes’.
