Addressed from La Celle to 'My dear Madame’ [Elizabeth Parkes, mother of Bessie] thanking her for her 'very kind letter and warm sympathy' concerning ‘Baron le Roy - - - my husband’s nephew, and he under whose patronage Louis [L S B’s son] began his career as ‘Secrétaire de la Préfecture de la Seine Inférieure’ ‘ (Baron le Roy was also Louis’ godfather). She talks further of him; she invites E P to visit; ‘years and asthma weigh very heavily on me this year’; ‘Miss Montgolfier is low spirited’.
