Two orange files which appear to contain a mix of papers, many relating to UK agriculture and world economy. There are Ministers' memoranda and speeches, drafted by Marjorie Hollond and others, as well as her reply to Ministers' enquiries.
The first file includes (in addition to the above) a handwritten scrap by MTH, 'Ministry of Food Recipe for a Diplomatic Pudding', a typescript (possibly by MTH) 'The Finances of France: An Arabian Nights Tale. The Story of the Magic Horse, Inflation' (circa late 1920s) with a number of articles by J M Keynes in 'The Nation' (1925-26), as well as statistics on wheat prices (1923-38) and a number of Government documents on agricultural policy.
The second file contains documents relating to the Washington Agreement (1943), Anglo-American discussions under Article VII (1943-45) with MTH's manuscript and typescript comments, the War Cabinet Committee on Reconstruction (1943) and Post-War exchange position (1944-?1947). The second file has been sub-divided into sections marked 'PPP', 'PMP', 'PCP' etc.
