Scope and Contents
Originally numbered 'Vol VII'. This volume is inscribed ‘Margaret S Willis, 8 Cavendish Avenue and Girton College’ and paginated 1-106. It covers, inter alia, her last term as an undergraduate at Girton College. p. 5 has a watercolour entitled ‘End of Woodlands from window of E10 30.4.24.’. In May M W describes a trip to the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley: photographs and a ticket are pasted in. Other items pasted in include the following: next to p.6, snaps of Girton College Fire Brigade, including ‘Betty Willmott stopping leaks’; next to p.9, snaps of the geography lecture room, the Sedgwick Museum and the geographical library; next to p.10, order of examinations for the Geographical Tripos 1924 and women’s results; next to p.11, letter from Walter [brother-in-law]; pp14-63, photographs, postcards and watercolour sketches from European travels; next to p.78, photographs of ‘me’ and ‘K’. Pages 64-68 describe a camp near Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. Pages 70-80 describe various visits and trips in Cambridgeshire, including Linton and ‘Bartlow Barrows’ [Bartlow Hills: Roman burial mounds]. Pages 83-104 describe a visit to Cornwall.
