Scope and Contents

The album is inscribed inside 'ACWT d. d. HJWT Dec 1950': it appears to have been put together retrospectively by Aelfrida Tillyard as a gift for her brother Julius. Many of the photographs are replicated elsewhere in her archives. It comprises sepia and black and white snapshots pasted into the album, many but not all with captions in AT's hand. They include the following:
Aelfrida, Julius, Eustace and C V Durell 'by the front door' at Fordfield 1890s?;
Julius with Alfred Hughes in Pompeii, winter 1905/6;
family and friends including Alfred Isaac Tillyard, Catharine Sarah Tillyard, Julius, Eustace and Aelfrida;
France, Switzerland, Russia;
Constantine Graham 1907 and Odessa 1907;
Aelfrida and Alethea, Arlington Heights, USA 1908;
Agatha and Alethea Fordfield 1910;
