Scope and Contents

1) Eustace Tillyard to 'Frida' from Merton House, Cambridge, 7 October 1945, concerning his admission as Master of Jesus College, Cambridge; his daughter Angela going to Girton College; and his son Stephen thinking about doing social work. Note added by Aelfrida Tillyard, 12 October 1945: 'This letter ought to have been put in the Family Archives, but bad Master Eustace has chosen such brittle paper that I fear it will hardly survive the journey to S. Cuthbert's [to her daughter Alethea in South Africa] and back! I will only add my love - - Mother';
2) 4 letters from Florence Keynes to Aelfrida Tillyard, from 6 Harvey Road, Cambridge, 13 and 20 November 1944, 1 October 1953, and 20 September 1954, concerning mutual interests, family, AT's move to Oxford, AT's writing of 'family reminiscences' etc;
3) letter from 'Uncle Frank' [brother of AT's father Alfred] to 'Dear Freda', from Manchester, 31 January 1946, chiefly concerning family history and anecdote, in particular his grandfather's business, his Uncle Robert and 'Mary Tum-tum'.
