These manuscript volumes are also referred to by AT as 'Memory Pictures and Letters to the Dead'.They are essentially detailed memory pictures (as in GCPP Tillyard 2/23-26) together with a great deal of family history material. It is presumed that they were not published, but they appear in many ways to be the precursors of AT's published Memory Pictures written in the 1950s. Some of the material takes the form of imaginary letters written to the people concerned about themselves. There are also lots of childhood memories about events, people and places, often set down as though writing a diary in retrospect.
