Scope and Contents

F S is working in London at a convent in Lloyd Street, making and embroidering church linens. She appears to be friendly with a Miss Worrell at work. She appears to be sharing accommodation with her sister Clara and Dora [Bosanquet?] and later living in some sort of student house. Other activities include theatre (including theatre trips with Miss Jex-Blake), music and church (attending regularly at St Sepulchre Holborn, St Pancras, St Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey). She is regularly sent home from work because of illness. She appears to be considering some sort of change in churchgoing habits and / or beliefs, paying a number of visits to a Mr Rogers at St Sepulchre Holborn who 'practically insisted on confession - - - which is a big step for me' and on March 15 'I told [Miss Worrell] of the step I had decided to take, & I think she was pleased with me'. Her sister Margaret [Gretchen] visits her in March.
