Letter from Bessie Rayner Parkes to 'My Dear Sir' [recipient unknown], addressed from 2 Savile Row, London, 1852-11-17
Scope and Contents
BRP has received a parcel containing 16 copies of a book and a note from her correspondent, who appears to be an aspiring poet asking BRP to help in spreading his work. She comments favourably on his work and reflects on the length of time it can take to gain fame, for example 'Tennyson was 12 years in attaining a position in English Literature', but says 'I will do all I can for your book' and will show it to Mrs Browning on her 'return to England next year'.
