In March and April 1946 Helen Megaw travelled to Germany and Austria with F A Bannister and R C Evans on behalf of the British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee 'to investigate - - - X-ray apparatus and techniques, and the problems which had engaged German and Austrian crystallographers during the war years'.
