Conditions Governing Access
At the request of Marjorie Hollond's executor Section 2, 'Family papers and correspondence' is closed for 50 years from her death. These records will be opened on 1 January 2028.
Biographical / Historical
Marjorie Tappan began her undergraduate course at Bryn Mawr College but did not complete it there because she was excluded from the college in June 1914 (reason unspecified). It is not clear from where she received her first degree, possibly Columbia. The date of her PhD from Columbia is unclear, Girton records state 1917 but material in the papers suggest 1920.
