File contains the following:
1) Copy of a letter from Barbara Wallis to Frank [Stubbings, Fellow of Emmanuel College], 13 December 1995, about Giles family history and Elspeth Giles’ early life and health, including a diagnosis of Hodgkins disease; also a page of handwritten notes about her medical treatment and advice from 1905 (date of these notes unknown, probably late 20thC);
2) Short account (typescript with manuscript draft) by Dr Caterina Pietra Easton (‘Taffy’, née Giles, younger sister of Elspeth Giles) of Elspeth’s x-ray treatment at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge, including mention of a small flask blown by a worker at the Laboratory to amuse her - account written 1991;
3) Letter from Caterina Pietra Easton to Barbara Wallis, 6 March 1984, about Elspeth at Girton.
