Manuscript translations of poetry, annotated and paginated; 58 pages, sewn into three sections. Pp.1-50 have the watermark ‘C Ansell 1876’. Sewn into the last section (following p.50) are 8 unpaginated leaves with the title ‘Last Lay of Corinne Madame de Stael’. These have the watermark ‘J Whatman Turkey Mill 1841’.and were inserted here to follow two other Corinne poems by De Stael (pp.36-50).
Authors translated include Hugo, Beranger, Lamartine, Camoens, Petrarch, Goethe, Schiller, De Stael, Metastasio, etc.
