Scope and Contents
Three manuscripts, each one being a part of the trilogy, annotated and paginated. The first manuscript (written on folded foolscap) 38 pages plus title page and dramatis personae, title page incribed 'Joanna I. Queen of Naples and Sicily etc. Part I The Friar. A Tragedy in five Acts'. The second manuscript, 36 pages plus title page (with dramatis personae on reverse), inscribed 'Joanna I. Queen of Naples. Part II The Astrologer or The Fortunes of Durazzo. A Tragedy in five Acts'. The third manuscript, 50 pages plus title page (with dramatis personae on reverse), inscribed 'Joanna I. Queen of Naples. Part III The Traitor. A Tragedy in five Acts by the Author of Ginevra, Herman Waldgrave etc'. Parts II and III also have 'First copy' marked in pencil on the title page

Immediate Source of Acquisition
All three parts were originally together, loose in the Gamble trunk. The five sections of Part I were secured by string tied through holes made in the top left of the pages.

DateText: Probably written between these dates. Part I of the trilogy has a watermark 'J Whatman 1846' on the title page, Part II has 'C Wilmot 1837' and Part III 'J Whatman 1858'.
