Modern Turkish Short Stories, translated by Cynthia M Crews, with an introduction by E W F Tomlin, 1942 - 1950
Scope and Contents
Typescript with manuscript annotations and amendments. Probably translated by CMC in the early 1940s. Tomlin's introduction is dated April 1942, Ankara. The original stories date from 1916 to 1941. The file also contains two letters to CC from Professor Reuben Levy, dated 12 and 31 October 1950, informing her that 'they did not fall into the schemes of the Cambridge Oriental Series' but that it might be possible to publish the stories as part of a series of monographs 'of somewhat wider scope, provided the money for it can be obtained'.
