Textos Judeo-Espanoles de Salonica y Sarajevo con Comentarios Linguisticos y Glosario, 1951
Scope and Contents
Bound typescript of Judaeo-Spanish stories, songs and ballads from Sarajevo (as told to CC in 1929) and Salonica (as told to CC by Meru Levy in 1935), together with background material, linguistic commentary and a glossary translated from the English into Spanish by Agustin de Irizar. Dedicated on the flyleaf to CC's brother, N B Jopson, and to Arnald Steiger. Also a file of CC's earlier typescripts of the same Judaeo-Spanish material, together with background material in English and index cards used in the glossary, with later additions. The material in this work is based on studies made in Sarajevo and Salonica in 1929 and 1935 respectively and, although it was accepted for publication in Bulletin Hispanique and Vox Romanica in 1939-40, it was not published for reasons relating to the political situation in Europe.
